| Students' storiesNovember 15: The mathematics teacher gave this text to her pupils.
"Write a dozen-line maths problem in English about a characteristic feature of French life. Don't write about Paris! This work will be done by pairs and will have to be given back no later November 29, 2007. Leave lines to allow your teachers to make corrections.
After corrections and improvements, you will write them before Christmas on the weblog of the site Le Matou matheux so that our partners will be able to read them and answer the questions.
Of course don't forget to resolve your exercises yourselves!"
November 27: The Maths teacher took stock with the 12 groups: 2 groups hadn’t found a theme yet and 8 groups had chosen a story on distances, duration or speed. None of the 12 groups had a personal idea, the stories were similar to those written the previous year.
November 29: The Maths teacher's remarks bore fruit because each group finally chose a different theme. December 3: In order to help the pupils improve their stories by using a richer vocabulary, the English teacher recommended some websites: an English sport club website, a cooking recipe website… December 20: Only 9 stories out of 12 are online, some pupils being really unwilling to finish this activity. |
