 MathsClimatology in Tampere . At the beginning of my course, pupils were surprised that I wanted them to work on a Finnish site
  . But little by little, they realized that they could understand the graph about climatology without understanding Finnish. Scientific language is universal! Finnish numbersWhen I showed Finnish slide shows to my pupils, they automatically repeated the numbers in Finnish when they heard your voice. I didn't even ask them to do so... I was very happy and proud of our project.
 Basics of FinlandThe question « How many inhabitants are there in Finland? » or rather its answer made my pupils react, wondering what the points in the number 5.223.442 meant: spaces, commas? What number did it correspond to, in French?
 A pupil, who isn't a slow learner, was so puzzled that she read 338 417,21 km².
 She first  read it : “three hundred and thirty-eight million four hundred seventeen  thousand point twenty one”;
 She read it  a second time: “three hundred and thirty-eight million four hundred  seventeen thousand and twenty one”;
 And, at last, she read it correctly: “three hundred and thirty eight thousand four hundred and seventeen point twenty one".
 Most of them were very eager to read their penfriend’s work and surprised to see how good at English Finnish pupils are.
