Assessment (2007-2008)
French pupils
Maths:
How far do we live?
Pupils all know where Tampere is.
They enjoyed locating the two towns
with placeSpotting.com: some of them didn't want to leave the classroom before the end of the task.
Basics of Finland
A pupil who is very at maths noticed that the Finnish write numbers in two different ways. They seem to use the comma sometimes as a space between numbers (206,000 people in Tampere) and sometimes as a separator in a decimal number (Tampere’s area is 523,4 km²). We have asked the Finnish teachers to explain our pupils why. |
